I'm Olena Moloda, a Ukrainian full time artist. I wanted to create something truly unique in the world of art. I envisioned paintings that would encompass the transparency of the Old Holland Masters, the lightness of the minimalists, the fleeting moments captured by the Impressionists, the raw emotion expressed by the Expressionists, and the dynamic energy of contemporary art. However, achieving this vision posed a significant challenge. Traditional materials couldn't quite capture the essence I sought. The idea of using literal molten glass was tantalizing, but impractical—canvas simply can't withstand such intense heat. So, I embarked on the challenging journey of developing a material that could mimic the appearance of molten glass. I needed a substance that would retain the fluidity and vibrancy of molten glass while being compatible with canvas—a task never before attempted. Epoxy resin and similar materials were considered, but they fell short of my standards. They lacked the durability needed for a lasting painting on canvas, especially susceptible to cracking, particularly when rolled. Undeterred by these obstacles, I persevered. After extensive experimentation and research, I succeeded in creating my own molten glass formula—a material that not only emulated the fluidity and vibrancy of molten glass but also endured the rigors of the artistic process. This breakthrough marked a pivotal moment in my artistic journey. It was then, with this innovative material in hand, that I realized the significance of my work. This new style, born from a blend of artistic influences and my own experimentation, needed a name—a name that would capture its essence and its potential. And so, I coined the term "Moltenism." This name not only reflects the fluidity and dynamism of the style but also signifies the melting away of traditional boundaries in art. Through Moltenism, I strive to push the boundaries of artistic expression, offering viewers a visually stunning and emotionally resonant experience unlike any other.
