Artist Statement Years ago, when I looked at a masterpiece—whether a sculpture or a historical monument—I always told myself that what I was seeing was the result of my ancestors and previous civilizations. Some of them deliberately preserved a relic or a message for the future, while others left something behind by chance, without any prior intention. Yet their impact has lasted for many years and continues to exist to this day. Some of them lived long ago, and some are still among us. This led me to ask myself an important question: What have I left, as a person, for the present and for the future? It took me a long time to search for who I am and to understand my role as a human being. Some people left knowledge, some left literature, and others left art. I discovered that I was closer to plastic art than to any other field, so I chose this path. I found it responsive to my thoughts and obedient to my brush. I know that there are many schools and movements within art, and that each one works in its own unique way. I respect and appreciate all of them. However, I found myself in this direction, and I hope you can feel that through my work. I am at the beginning of the road, with ten years of experience. I will remain an amateur all my life, because art has no limits or dimensions. The artist is like a fishing rod in the sea of life—there are only a few fish in his basket. Thank you. About the Artist Hi, I’m EL HILALI, an artist working with acrylic and watercolor on paper and canvas, in many different sizes. I love brushes and colors, and I always strive to create more beautiful designs and paintings. Sometimes I use only acrylic; other times, I mix it with watercolor to bring more flexibility and depth to my work. This is my personal choice, and I feel confident with it. I love this quote by Pablo Picasso: “Give me a museum and I’ll fill it.” Notes: All my paintings are finished with varnish to extend their lifespan and protect them from dust and sunlight. Colors may appear slightly different depending on your screen settings. I am a serious artist, and I care deeply about every detail that makes my work the best it can be. Thank you for choosing my art.
