I have decided to call this ‘Muse Of Broadway’, not that it has anything to to with Broadway, per se - only that of Broadway, the village in the Cotswolds where John Singer Sargent moved, into a colony of artists and thinkers; firstly to Farnham house, then to Russell House. This painting is an imaginary visitor who might have been a muse to the painter; or perhaps here is a story yet to be written. I have added some links below to give further context to my inspiration. The YouTube video/story is very listenable especially on a rainy night. The painting, oil on canvas, 22x30” plus frame, is £5600 - remember I’ve also a 40 percent off sale only on my website at the moment. I won’t be accepting 40 percent off any of my works on other websites or through other galleries. Please always come directly to me where possible as gallery commissions can be obscene. https://transatlanticmodernbroadway.wordpress.com/russell-house/ https://transatlanticmodernbroadway.wordpress.com/farnham-house/ https://youtu.be/Q2Xx-DHqnN0

"William Oxer is not merely a painter; he is a distinctive sensibility, with a poetic vision he explores in many media. His art is affirmative, evocative and forgiving..." Professor Sir Roger Scruton "William Oxer's paintings represent a strikingly fresh current in contemporary art. His work is experimental, and he is also willing to take on larger themes as well as demonstrating a delight in detail and minutiae. Very few contemporary artists paint so consistently well." Dr David Morley, University of Warwick In 2017 William was invited by the Royal Society of Arts to become one of their Fellows, which he is honoured to become. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fellow_of_the_Royal_Society_of_Arts
