About The Artwork

Music and guitar. Abstract painting in primary colors (red-yellow). I have a musician friend. He plays the guitar and composes his own music. This gave rise to a desire to convey the mood and process of creating music. That is to transfer music in color. Rhythmically red conveys passion, while yellow gives shape to the sound and words in the song. Circles are a symbol for recording a melody. The painting is painted on natural canvas on a strether.

"LorisDo" is the creative name of Larisa Leontieva. I was born in Riga (Latvia), was educated and got a profession in fashion design. One of my relatives, a famous sculptor, professor of the Latvian Academy of Art, Igor Vasiliev (Vasiliev-Panerji 26.05.1940-21.06.1997) with his art prompted to practice fine arts. In fact, in itself, drawing always occupied a special place in my life. The first practical embodiment it found in the occupation of silk painting. Then it gradually evolved into painting and was embodied in the paintings created in oil and acrylic on canvas, cardboard, blackboard, etc. There are works made with colored pencils - it is a special world, they have a special aura and the possibility of transmitting feelings and thoughts.  Ideas that arise as a result of meditation or emotional outbursts sometimes come to life on canvas relatively quickly. Sometimes it takes a long time until it finally forms into an image that can be displayed on a canvas. My husband is a self-taught artist. We create some paintings in "creative tandem". We spend part of the year in Italy. This also found expression in paintings dedicated to this beautiful country. In our work we use different materials and techniques and like to experiment also with subjects and genres (abstractionism, surrealism, realism, metaphysical trend, etc.). Our works are in private collections mainly in Italy, some in Latvia, America.
