ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work belongs to a new series called " Minimal Landscape" of large fields of colour and black line. It is a minimalist and geometric work. That seeks to simplify the composition in a rectangular space. For me it is a new challenge because I use colour to the limits of the canvas and I usually like to keep areas of the canvas free of paint as an important part of the composition.

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
