in situ - details - I've been fascinated by the symbolism of circles for awhile. Look around, you'll see them everywhere. Your morning cup of java or tea, your bowl of breakfast, the steering wheel, the wheels of a bus, the lights in a traffic light - and we haven't even gotten to work yet! When painting this I'm particularly inspired by the symbolism in ancient mythologys, from the Japanese Enso, to the Ouroboros of Greek, Aztec and Egyptian Mythologies. Measures 30 x 30 x .80" acrylic on stretched canvas. Signed in the bottom forest green circle. By the way, the colors of this are inspired by nature, our source of life on planet earth. So when I say my kind of spinning, what i'm really turned on to is nature. When life is crazy, nature is my touchstone. This circular planet revolving around a circular sun....

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Why does humanity, have such a fascination with circles? Look around, you'll see them everywhere. Your morning cup of java or tea, your bowl of breakfast, the steering wheel, the wheels of a bus, the lights in a traffic light - and we haven't even gotten to work yet! When painting this I was particularly inspired by the symbolism in ancient mythologies, from the Japanese Enso, to the Ouroboros of Greek, Aztec and Egyptian Mythologies. So when it's said "my kind of spinning", what we're really turned onto, is nature. When life is crazy, nature is our touchstone. This circular planet circling around a circular sun....

Globally collected abstract expressionist artist based in California, U.S. I grew up drawing on everything: sketchbooks, notepads, candy wrappers. That passion eventually led to working with incredible names like Warner Brothers and the Dali Museum. But creating for others wasn't making me happy anymore, I wanted to create art that reflected my own ideas. Not long after that epiphany, I left corporate America. These days, I work out of my home studio using—acrylics, oils, ink, spray paint, you name it. Breaking the rules I once learned in art feels so natural now. But the hardest lesson for me to learn, was how to get out of my own way, trust the process, let go and get in the flow. Inspiration comes from how I see the world—chaotic, layered, and ever-changing, much like my ADHD mind. I rarely stick to one series or theme, preferring to explore and push boundaries. Somehow, that unpredictability brings a sense of peace. And hopefully that keeps things fresh and interesting, so you might want to see what's new! Whether you are a creator or a collector, I feel art is a reminder for us to honor and nurture our authentic selves in a world that often tries to define us or box us in. Profound thanks to all my collectors for supporting me on this incredible journey together!
