Norman Pirollo discovered a passion for creativity at an early age. Having pursued a career in the IT industry after studying Computer Science, he has since returned to his passion of creating unique abstract art. As a designer and artist, Norman brings to you over sixteen years of expertise. He is self-taught in both the fine arts and decorative arts. Norman currently creates hand-painted abstract art in the abstract expressionist genre. The compositions are meticulously painted to depict an abstract scene and include important elements such as form, contrasting colors, light and curves. Rich vivid colors, curves and intriguing compositions are featured in his abstract work. The original artwork is then photographed at high resolution and transferred to quality art papers or canvas. “I am intrigued by the beauty of abstract expressionist art forms. My work is informed through that of well known Canadian artists of the Automatism movement. This opens up a new genre of art to me. I seek out captivating and intriguing compositions to create and photograph. The abstract composition, vivid colors, tones and forms combine to create the final product.” Norman's work has been featured in books such as "Studio Furniture: Today's Leading Woodworkers", "Wood Art Today 2", "500 Cabinets" as well as various international magazines. He has been the recipient of numerous art awards. As well, Norman has recently been selected as a finalist for the prestigious NICHE Awards as well as a finalist for the Art Trends Artist of the Year Award. Norman currently resides and operates his studio in a country setting in Ottawa,Ontario.
