When the lotus flower is combined with Buddhist symbolism it’s known to represent a purity within the body, speech, and mind. It signifies the distancing of oneself from that of material attachments and physical desires. The ‘lotus throne’ is used as a base or pedestal for the Buddha to symbolize control in such matters. Some legends even mention that Gautama Buddha’s first steps made lotus flowers appear every where he stepped. Wouldn’t that be a beautiful sight to see?
