Stefan Pluess is a swiss artist. He lives and works in Gordola near Locarno Switzerland. Born in Zurich in 1968, he became an art director in 1989 after studying for 4 years. With 20 he had his first artstudio and since 1999 he work as a full-time artist. His abstrakt, contemporary black and white paintings are about the miracle of nature. Patterns, textures and structures in the circle of appearing and passing away. Over the years he developed his own painting technique that allowed the viewer to dive deep into the painting in order to explore the universe behind it. The paint is self-made out of the remains of fire. Black charcoal and white ash produced in his self-made wood stove which reaches very high temperature to get nice clin ash. Mixed with other ingredients and clear acrylic emulsion for a paint that will never fade, made of burnt organic matter. The working process is very quiet and meditative. He simply follows his intuition which is the hardest thing to do. „Led the spirit of nature floating through your body and listen, what it’s telling you“. He showed his work in many solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad. Each painting is absolutely unique and can not be reproduced. It is signed, dated and numbered on the back. Ready to hang.
