Mamoru Tatsuda is a Japanese artist, who moved to Berlin in 2018, when he became 40 years old. He changed his name and started to make paintings, contemplating on the Japanese history of the 20th century. The Second World War, aerial combats, war maps, bombing missions, post-war electronics development and PCB-production, scientific data and experiments, are blended in the surreal flow of expressionist painting and collage techniques. Mr. Tatsuda works with mixed media on various surfaces: canvas, paper, wood, glass, metal, paying his tribute to Arte Povera and including in his practice a lot of found materials, objects and even paintings by other amateur artists, that are disposed on the streets of Berlin.
