After a guided tour of the Elliott Museum in Staurt Florida, I became fascinated by a small black and white photo of Harmon Elliott’s Yacht. It was large enough to accomodate a 1936 Austin “Nippy” Roadster used as a shore car on display at the Museum. After some research, it was discovered that “Nomrah” was a 62 foot Elco Motor Yacht built in 1928. She had two double staterooms, one single stateroom, two heads and one bath. The painting depicts “Nomrah” in Elliott’s configuration and design. It was lost in 1954 to Hurricane Carol in the Boston area.

Each piece of my art has historical significance, so there is always a unique and fascinating story to tell about the painting. In today’s world of mass produced “sameness” there was a time when we created modes of transportation that were functional but also works of art. I take these unique and beautiful objects and place them where they were seen and shined in the past.
