About The Artwork

Don't Look Back is a vision full of color, a life-dense message for women who find the courage to walk away from suffering. On closer inspection, the colorful jubilation of the canvas is more orderly than one perceives at first glance: the painted space is divided into two distinct parts, following a visible compositional diagonal. The right side is dominated by blues, and the light, which although it makes the spaces visible, does not warm but cools, but freezes and almost acidifies even the wall of the house from which the street comes. Even when the path is difficult: here it is winding and uphill, but only by climbing it does the world around regain its real vitality. Here, the left half of the canvas allows itself to grow a little more numb with each step, with each leaf, rediscovering the true complexity of hues of reality. Only the little woman, however, possesses the color red, declaring herself the fulcrum of the painting's color composition.
