Of course everyone in the civilized world knows who this beautiful face belongs to, but does anyone know the tragic story of this young woman who was too lovely for her own good. They say that the brightest stars are the ones that burn out the quickest she certainly did. I feel for her more as a human being than a movie star, the profession that eventually destroyer her. I hope my viewer can sense the sadness behind the mask as I did when I painted her. I used acrylic paints for their brightness and ability to work very fast and spontaneously.

I, Fernando Alberto Soler was born in Havana Cuba in 1947. Our family migrated to the US and the island of Key West in 1956 where I graduated from Key West High School in 1966. I was inducted into the US Coast Guard in 1967 and released in 1971, that year I entered Ringling School of Art in Sarasota Florida where I live now. I have had several sign businesses since art school and have exhibited my fine art in many shows and galleries receiving many awards in the process.
