Italian-American. Born 1959. In 1969, Tomasso Silvestri began his career in music performance by learning accordion, piano, percussion and composition. At an early age he expanded into multimedia performance and theatre and eventually led to the visual arts medium. His site-specific projects included a broad range of music, theatre and commercial recording projects including an elite membership as top soloist of the Field Museum Gamelan Orchestra Soloist. In 1980 he formed new multimedia and art groups in central Europe dedicated to avant-garde multimedia performances and commercial productions of local rock, jazz and R&B Top 40 hit bands. His songs and pop hits were recorded by the German super pop group “Trio Rio”. In 1992 he created and launched "The Silvestri Art Directory", one of the first worldwide artist directory websites dedicated to the promotion and sales of international artists original works and replicas sold directly to online art dealers and curators. In 2002 he co-founded the international "" website committed to international artists and designers to present their new works in a salon setting online with direct purchase of original works and distributions of posters, and commercial licensing of the artists images to corporate and private businesses. Silvestri’s art, sculpture, designs and paintings of multimedia constructions are executed with great precision of layered iconic imagery and brilliant color palette. His sculptures are 3D dimensional imagery of personas and cosmic deities, with a high visceral reality. Silvestri has been actively involved with the international art scene and in Chicago arts council organizations. His works are exhibited internationally with current representation in Chicago and Koeln, Germany.
