I am an artist that was born with a paintbrush in my hand. When I was only four years old I painted and dreamt about being old enough to take painting classes. My first contact with oil paints was at eight years of age. After that, when I was 16 I began to experiment with various materials, painting on wood, ceramic and glass meanwhile I completed my academic studies. It was at the age of 26, when I lived in Spain for six years that I began to develop professionally as an artist and began to look as art as a career path, later taking classes with Viky Taboada in Bilbao, Spain. Upon returning to Uruguay I attended Clever Lara’s workshop to continue my theoretical and practical studies. After some time I also studied with Gerardo Acuña, where I continue developing as an artist even today. I am most happy when I am creating artwork, whether it be making sculptures, painting objects, decorating houses or renovating furniture. One of my deepest passions is creating wall murals, which I have been doing professionally since 2003. I work to uplift any space from bedrooms, living rooms, children doctor’s surgeries right the way through to hospitals and theatre set design. I hope that you resonate with my artwork, each of which has a little piece of my soul within. Flavia Curuchet
