Ominipresence is one of the several spiritual effects of peyote, and I represent it by placing three peyote eyes in the same space as an analogy of who sees everything. OMNIPRESENT is an original painting mande on MDF board. I find it a great medium to work on, so in this particular case I decided ...

I define myself as an artist who uses geometry as a compositional support, influenced by modernism, functionalism, and deconstructivism. I am the overall winner of the 2025 VAA Artist of the Year Awards and have been named one of the 15 best-selling artists in Saatchi Art history. Unlike a purely decorative pursuit, I base my series on years of research into Mexico's material heritage, even going so far as to create my own natural pigments using indigenous techniques. I seek to represent a purposeful fusion between tradition and global modernity, standing out for Abstraction with a Denomination of Origin: I aim for minimalism to cease being a "renunciation of representation" and become a natural expression of Mexican culture. I use elements such as mamey, huitlacoche, or peyote, etc., to anchor geometric abstraction in Mexico's organic identity. In my most recent series, "Wonderland," I explore the transcendence of cultural clash (the conquest) and how "Mexicanness" contributes to the current global context. Instead of following trends, I employ a vibrant palette inspired by traditional crafts and textiles, applying it with a technique of transparencies and layers that invites the viewer to a close and emotional observation. I reinterpret figures like alebrijes, not as monsters, but as physiognomic guides and protectors of the architectural space on the canvas, elevating folklore to a category of universal abstraction.
