B. 1977, Based in Colorado, USA. Robert Servat is a contemporary fine artist working primarily in Neo-Expressionism and Abstraction. Interested in making art from an early age, he taught himself to draw and paint, and has been focused on painting for the past decade. Robert’s style is full of expression through an accessible use of abstraction and insightful selection of color to create collectible works which are meant to connect with the viewer at an emotional level. His influences include the art of Georg Baselitz, Karel Appel, Nathan Oliveira, Peter Keil, Eddie Martinez, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Robert finds inspiration in a wide variety of sources spanning from street art and urban influences to 20th century movements such as Abstract Expressionism, CoBrA, Color Field, and Neo-Expressionism. He uses a visual language that relies on immediacy and unrestrained emotion through expressive lines, mark making, and vibrant colors with an improvised and experimental art process. Robert’s work embodies a harmonious mixing of representation and abstraction aimed at providing a balanced yet evocative composition. The end results are works which contain a powerful and confident artistic energy.
