The encouragement and empowerment of women, especially those of diversity is what inspires Alina Anon. Through her art, she tries to inspire each of us to find our inner beauty and unique talents and never give up on the dreams held within all of us. Alina’s own journey of empowerment began in the small town of Santa Fe, Argentina. Growing up in Santa Fe, she loved to draw and paint. After moving to Buenos Aires to study Graphic Design, she fell in love with the visual effects she was beginning to see in the film industry in the early 1990’s. Alina has always been able to visualize her future. Despite having no connections, limited english language skills and being virtually unknown in the film industry, she moved to the United States to pursue her dream. After five years of study and perseverance, her talent landed her an opportunity to work as a matte painter on her first feature film. From there she spent twenty years working on major motion pictures, highlighted by the 2013 film “Life of Pi” which would go on to win ten Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects. During the pandemic of 2020, Alina re-dedicated herself to fine art, drawing inspiration from the social change that gained momentum in the United States and around the world during that time. Alina’s art is intended to help us all realize that we are the ones that are responsible for visualizing our own futures, and taking the steps, however many, necessary to achieve our dreams.
