About The Artwork

Opposites is a surreal painting by Aalia Rahman that explores the idea of good vs. evil. Painted onto hand-stretched 100% cotton canvas, Opposites brings a gallery to your personal or professional space. This particular painting is based on the concept of good vs. evil, where the good arteries carry red blood, and the purple veins carry bad blood. Depending on the viewers interpretation, the good might win as the red arteries are thicker and longer, or perhaps the bad side might take over because the veins carrying dirty blood is more dispersed. The walls do the same. Either the viewer may interpret it as the walls are crumbling or perhaps your optimistic side may find that the walls are rectifying themselves. And the door shows that the source for both good and evil come from the same place. Artwork comes with wire hanging.

I’m an artist on a mission to capture moments in people’s life that have been life changing. And it could vary. It could either be a small incident where maybe you were lonely or you felt out of place or maybe it’s something much larger and more significant like you went through a miscarriage or you lost someone in your life or you found out you had cancer. Either way, I help people capture these moments that may not be the most pleasant at the time, but in hindsight was a learning lesson or one that helped you grow or shows how far you have come or that just made you appreciate life that much more. I like creating surreal pieces that remind you of these moments. So when anyone visits your place or office or sees the piece, they may interpret it another way or see something of themselves in it. And that’s ok. Because it’s almost like you have a secret out in the open that unless you explain what it’s about, they are not going to know. There may be people you don’t want to explain it to, and that’s fine. It can mean something else to them. But to you, this was a life changing event.
