Oracle is an original oil painting/mixed media that I created in 2018. Oracle was inspired by a photo reference I found whilst searching for new faces to practice and experiment with. I loved her profile and hair. It is always fun to paint beautiful hair and the result is super satisfying. I especially enjoy painting dreadlocks, plats and braids. Only if I had models for my paintings. I am looking forward to a bigger studio space and some portrait commissions. Oracle started with the stitch work. In the first stage, I would be stitching pieces of fabric onto my canvas using a sewing machine.I create arrangements as I am stitching. I like to make it as abstract as possible without much planning. After stretching my canvas, I begun turning the canvas to work out the best composition. At this point, it was still undecided about what I was about paint. "Just play and take the line on a holiday" echoed in my head after John Olsen. "Grow like a flower" So I finally start painting. No sketch, no grid, just a photo reference. It's strange, but at a certain point of this deep involvement, the painting, it comes alive. The artist is no longer master of the painting but rather a slave of his/her own creation. She is a medicine woman. Wise woman. Midwives. Shaman. Spiritual leader. She came to guide me back to light. The sides are beautifully painted, ready to hang.

Karolina was born in Hungary and moved to Australia in her early 20s. She has been creating artworks for as long as she can remember as it has always brought her a sense of calm and release. 9 times out of 10 she will choose oils over acrylics but lately, she has gotten into restoring old surfboards and finishing them off with sprays ranging from psychedelic outer space waves to sexy Japanese geishas. Airbrushing surfboards has been so much fun that she applied airbrush to make create portraits, landscapes and fantasy-visionary artworks . “There is no limit to creativity, only imagination” Karolina’s painting today is heavily influenced by textile, fashion and fibre art. Ornamental elements such as patterns, repeats, stitch-work, mixed media is present in many of her current works. She is a multi-talented artist with a variety of interests that keep her works unique, fresh and visionary. Her inspiration to create comes from an innate urge to experiment and constantly expand her vision. Learning new skills is essential in her process as she incorporates these skills to create the unusual, the authentic, the beautiful. Karolina enjoys painting nudes, landscapes, portraits, animals, abstract on canvas, walls, surfboards, skateboards, basically anything and everything. Her art knows no limit in themes, styles, techniques and expression. She loves creating and the process that comes with it.
