About The Artwork
An Orange on White End Table, A Queer Tapestry, was made over the course of four months abroad in Rome. It is simultaneously three things. A landscape. A woven tapestry telling the story of my name. And simply wallpaper with an orange on a white end table with a fern. While the subject matter was decided prior, the execution of the representation drew heavily from the classical art and architecture I was witness to. It is an acrylic painting on canvas, yet is hung as a tapestry.
