About The Artwork
Another Still Life inspired by a simple subject: oranges in a white bowl, on a striped old cloth (old thrown away drapes as a matter of fact). As my work is to concentrate on shapes, colors ans movement, The bowl of oranges on a grey table did not offer much in terms of composition. After adding the old cloth, the composition seemed interesting. Then the work begins: painting the subject, interpreting it, getting inspired by the shapes and colors, specially the stripes adding compositional substance. This painting took a year to complete, with some pauses and then coming back to it refreshed. Hopefully this will show.
