Nina Enger is a contemporary artist based in Norway, whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Luxembourg, Italy, France, Monaco, Spain, South Korea, Chile, UK and the USA. Her dramatic expressions reflect the wild and unpredictable nature of life. In the very beginning of her artistic career she found her inspiration in nature, attempting to create her own imagined landscapes, but as time went by there was a loss of external references, and is rather now an expression of her inner journey. Not being stuck in any specific style or category she follows her inner creative guide. The ceaseless fluctuations of dark and light, mist, contrast and colours creates a subtle movement in her work. Being self-taught above all, she speaks the unspeakable through the exploration of various media, colours, lines and shapes. The canvas, once finished, takes on a life of its own and she is already on to the next project. Being immersed in the painting process her inner landscape reveals itself in an unpredictable fashion leading to discoveries and surprises, even to herself. She lives and works in Oslo.
