I continue to try and paint the impossible - or at least the improbable. Many people can see the influence of Rene Magritte in my work but I feel as if I am developing my own style, part surrealistic, part realistic and sometimes bordering on cartoony or pop-artish. The man sitting on the limb appears in many of my paintings, almost always with his back turned to the viewer, drawing you in to see what he is seeing. In this case, one wonders, "How did he get out on that branch?" And, "What in the world is he thinking?"
