I was inspired by my first teacher, Edgar Whitney, who said "You are a shape maker." I was only thinking of a variety of shapes and colors to make an interesting abstract compositon. I hope viewers will feel a sense of movement and look carefully to see the many layers and textures.

Barbara Landberg grew up in Maplewood, N.J. and spent most of her adult years in Englewood, NJ and Tenafly, NJ. Her first drawing class opened her eyes to observing nature and seeing all the beauty surrounding her. She has been painting for over 40 years and has been exhibiting in shows since 2007. She has won first and second place awards in 7 shows for her Mixed Media and Collage paintings. She has also had 6 solo exhibits. Barbara. enjoys Watercolor painting, Chinese Brush Painting, Acrylics, Mixed Media and Collage. She has also done batik and silk painting. Any day that she makes time for art is a good day. At the end of 2020 Barbara relocated to Northern California.
