Painting, Acrylic on Canvas
Size: 34 W x 34 H x 1 D in
Ships in a Box
Medium: Acrylic on primed stretched canvas frame, gloss varnished Size: 85cm x 85cm "Oyaa Lo?", the title of this painting literally translates as, "Are You Going?" It is inspired by the main road that lies in the heart of the city, literally and figuratively. It's a common area for everyone in the town, who are related to each other distantly at least. The city center is the heart of festivals and other religious and social programs, and on days when there are no special festivities, it is still full of trotros, taxis, and motorcycles, ready to transport you wherever you want to go. Being in here physically you sense an eagerness, I used thick post-impressionistic brushstrokes in fall-colored tones to capture the sense of movement in the city center as the day fades into early night-time, when it is still filled with light but much cooler. Ships securely with several layers of bubble wrap for protection, and also comes in its own dark red stained floater frame with installed hardware, ready to hang!

Ghana
With a focus on open-impressionism/fauvism, I make art - so you can escape into a world filled with COLOR and experience joy. Over here in Ghana, West Africa, the ever changing social landscapes are an endless source of inspiration. I am inclined to offer an accurate representation of what is, and references for my work are not staged. Its my way of offering topics for discussion that delves into what currently is (our present state) and why we are the way we are. The larger part of my work involves teaching people the Bible, so I share resources I have with them, in hopes it helps to improve their lives. Over the years, I have seen many benefit from this work. When I get back to my studio, I recreate these precious shared moments with whatever I have available: acrylic, oils, pastels on cardstock or when I can afford it, canvas. You can look forward to seeing more of such, as well as behind the scenes pictures. Think of it as our shared travel diary! Enjoy!
