On a clear day at the southern California coast, the surge against the rocks forms an ever changing spa of water, and froth and underwater vegetation, all swirling in the light of the sun. This scene is from the rocks of La Jolla Cove. It has more visitors now than it did when I first went there forty years ago but it's no less beautiful.
