About The Artwork

Painted in impressionistic style, without pencil sketch, directly on canvas, almost as an improvised idea. "Pandora's Box" is ongoing series of paintings mostly on loose linen or canvas. Artist's vision of Pandora's Box, when it was opened, was a 'Mess of human flesh being released into the world, fighting for the space, position, supremacy...' Painting portraits and human bodies enables the artist to get deeper into minds of human nature and to explore beauty and complexity of human body and of life itself. Artist's style could be described as a contemporary impressionism. He works fast but with clear concept before starting a new painting. His preferred mediums are watercolour on paper and oil or acrylic on canvas. Tony works "alla prima", directly with brush, without pencil sketch beforehand and with very little amount of overpainting and correcting.
