Paraiso. Dream 2 Painting

«Paraiso» Serie of paintings, oil on linen This series is painted in Costa del Sol, South of Spain, and they depict all bright colours of the region, where there are 350 sunny days a year, where temperature in December is around 18 degrees, where you are encircled with tropical gardens and colourful flowers. The place you can honestly call the Paradise. Magic of Andalucía, fabrics of flamenco dancers, spices of Morocco…. Culture is a mixture of Iberic, Roman, Visigoth, Arabic and Spanish roots. The style that I paint this series can be called Marvellous Realism, I combine figurative painting with decorative elements, with ornaments. Each painting is a combination of live and artifacts, a real girl silhouette and Moroccan décor or tile, real flowers and plants and decorative flower ornament on fabrics. I have found myself engaging with the term “paradise”, from an idealist representation of “Paradise” to an everyday perception of smaller “paradises” of my heroes and their dreams.
