Pasta and Pot Still Life Painting

This artwork is inspired by the creative process of cooking. The materials are laid out and prepared and ready to be used to create some kind of a culinary masterpiece. There is a special feeling that is being captured in this moment. Part of a series of Classical Realist style still life, Fruit and Fondue was inspired by the beauty that is found in the reflections of the pot and the way that the candle light reflects off of many of the objects in the painting. My hope is that my viewers will continue to appreciate the beauty in simple objects that inspires me. There is so much beauty around us, we just need to stop and reflect upon it. The medium is traditional oil paints done in a classically realistic style. The substrate is a Belgian linen canvas. I chose these specifically because of the quality of the materials and the enduring nature of the materials which can survive for hundreds of years.
