ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Part of an ongoing series exploring the unintentional(?) performance art of Colonel Sanders in a formal painting approach. This series is heavily influenced by abstract expressionists, hard edge painters, and many post 1960s approaches. I use the Colonel more as a figurative starting point to then push the other elements of painting I enjoy exploring. Similar to how Pollock often started with a representational/figurative drip as his under-painting. The color palette is limited to what KFC has used over the years (white, black, red and blue).
