Perfect Crime Painting

Oil on canvas, 60cm on 80cm, signed in the bottom. Does a perfect crime exist and why people commit crimes in the first place, are questions I often ask myself after finishing a mystery novel. Why would a woman hold a gun in the most romantic church on earth? Who is her target and will she miss or hit? Would she get caught for her crime or was there a crime to get caught for in the first place? What would her happy ending be? … So many questions and so many possible outcomes … I like a simple, effective, straight to the point approach to my paintings, with clear lines and bright colours. I paint in a realistic way with a touch of graphic novels style. The subject is usually women, nature and wildlife. I combine different images to create a unique vision of a thought, event or feeling. I paint mostly using oil on canvas for its versatility. It allows me to create bright images that pop out and at the same time gives room for softness and drama. My paintings begin with a conversation with someone, something I saw in the street or online, a book or article I read or a TV show I watched …
