ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Part of a series I've developed that uses percussion instruments as a starting place. In this case though it was all about the color palette and a desire to work with a palette of vivid pinks, magenta, deep cerise, and bright violets in a retro styled composition. To me the colors evoke the idea of Latin jazz and beats. The painting bleeds to all 4 edges of the heavy (300 lb) Arches 100% cotton rag watercolor paper. Two deckle edges (sides). Can be air mounted to display the entire piece or matted conventionally.
