Unframed work on paper. The Japanese word for circle is enso. An expression of wholeness. The making of a circle is a practice of bringing the wholeness forward. The physical gesture of making the mark becomes a record of the moment of its creating, the paint holding the ebbs and flows of present energies *Unframed* frame for demonstration purposes only. Enso in watercolour on unframed 100% cotton 300gm paper.

I am an artist based in rural Scotland. My materials are diverse and include film, cloth and paint. Painting for me is a way to be in the flow, in the now of things. I am lucky to live in an amazing rural landscape. Mountains, field and forest on my doorstep. There is beauty and rawness edged by community. I love witnessing the interactions and seasonal change. I have been filming and painting here for a long time Making is my way of processing thoughts and thinking again. My film work is a way of finding thinking on the edge of what I understand, already in the world, A pattern match in reality of something I am grasping at the edge of in thought, Ready articulated in the world, externalised in a way that I can more fully appreciate it.
