ABOUT THE ARTWORK

SHIPPING AND RETURNS

This work is inspired by famous the painting of Napoleon "Napoleon crossing the Alps"by Jaques-Louis David. And I alsways thought this painting lacked humor but it wouldn't be right being that Napoleon was a controversial figure in that time. So I made my alter ego Napoleon, but I am not an Emperor....

Harry Lynch, better known by his artistic pseudonym HazzA, was born on October 30, 2000, in Knokke, Belgium, and is currently based in Bruges. HazzA’s work spans painting, sculpture, and drawing, showcasing his versatility and creativity across various mediums. He is most recognized for his surrealist paintings, which center on his alter ego placed within imaginative and dreamlike scenarios. At the core of HazzA’s artistic practice is a desire to explore the subconscious. His works serve as a visual translation of his inner thoughts and frustrations, often infused with subtle cheekiness and a playful sense of humor. By tapping into his subconscious mind, HazzA seeks to make the intangible tangible by creating a new world in each painting where the boundary between reality and fantasy is blurred. A key characteristic of his work is his use of bright, neon-like colors. These vivid hues contribute to the dynamic and otherworldly atmospheres that define his surrealist scenarios, drawing the viewer into the strange and whimsical environments his alter ego inhabits. Through this bold color palette, HazzA amplifies the dreamlike and surreal qualities of his work, transforming familiar experiences into otherworldly scenes. His work invites audiences to engage with their own subconscious thoughts, offering a playful yet profound exploration of the human mind.
