Plane Catcher Painting

This series is a more primitive departure from my usual more controlled graphic style/process which has a definitive beginning, middle and end. It’s more representative of the way I painted in my early days, pre graphics tablet illustration. They are an exercise in letting go of control and the need to be ‘finished’. This particular piece evolved from uniball pen and and marker line drawing I did on New Years day...I liked it so much I decided to make a painting. After living with this piece for awhile I've determined a few things: the female, I believe she's my inner child, also I live in Chicago in a direct flight path to O'Hare, I never tire of seeing or hearing the planes, once in awhile I really do catch one!
