About The Artwork
While I was painting Plastic Girl 2.0, I got very inspired by the Dutch portraits of the 15th century, especially the great painter Jan Van Eyck. Painting with a ¾ perspective has helped me to create a misterious feeling and take more advantage of the facial features. I also enjoyed the following contradiction: Plastic Girl 2.0 is staring at us but her ears are covered by her earphones. She is here but not really here actually, kind of hypnotised by the music/ sounds she is listening to.
