I am a Bolivian artist from the city of Santa Cruz, a city that emerged on the border of the Amazon and has influenced my worldview in my artistic work, particularly the vibrant colors of my culture, the animals, and the flora, which have now been deconstructed and presented through a vision of the unconscious. Since my early days, I have explored various forms of expression such as pottery, wood carving, and a few years later, I ventured into materials like fiberglass, polyurethane foam sculpture, among others. All these experiences are now merged into the techniques I currently employ. Beyond the techniques of representation and the materials I use, my style is guided by pareidolia (a psychological phenomenon where a vague and random visual stimulus is perceived as a recognizable form). Through paint strokes or reliefs on the surface of clay, I can see figures and shapes that I then make evident, becoming a sort of photograph of the unconscious, akin to a Rorschach test. The representation style of my works has a caricatured or childlike touch because, in my experience, the purest form of artistic representation we have is that of ourselves when we are children. That's why I try to let my inner child draw and paint. With this, I aim to create a space for dialogue in contemporary art where we communicate with this inner child, sharing my way of seeing the world, my culture. As abstract works, they also leave room for the observer's personal interpretation.
