Poof Painting

I find my work to be in a continuous state of flux as my rigorous, process driven studio practice follows various expressive threads as they present themselves. With a formal training in architecture, the paintings tend to be spatial, often landscape driven with a focus on fundamentals such as color, light, form, shape, brushwork... Attention is paid to spatial types and what they might engender rather than to rational spatial concepts as I explore phenomenological and experiential aspects of landscape/painting rooted in both lived experience and the imagination. Sensations are referenced, sensations brought about by both the smaller and the larger revelations, perceptions, oscillations, and then translated in a rigorous yet instinctive manner responding to both formal and intuitive concerns as each is considered.
