ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I spent a few years getting to know this cassowary in the National Zoo, and took hundreds of photos before starting this painting. I have to admit, I did have to "edit" some features to make him seem less than the brute that he was. I detailed as I could work on it for about a year before stopping to sign it. Gallery wrapped black painted edges on a very substantial frame. On muslined,scenic frame with back corners and faced with 1/4" ply. An aggressive room watcher.
