About The Artwork

24" x 48" acrylic painting on canvas. In this contemporary abstract portrait, artist Doron Noyman comments on the vigilance needed to navigate in a Post-Truth society. A sense of urgency is conveyed through the use of strong color and markings, but it is on eyes and seeing where the message lies. How as a society are we to gauge honesty in the world around us amid the swirl of political spin and fake news. The painting has a rich, tactile surface with conspicuous ridges that accentuate the physicality of paint and markings. Edges are painted blue. -Thanks for looking!

Hi, My name is Doron Noyman. I am a San Fransisco Bay Area artist and a poet, living and working in Palo Alto, California. Painting is my primary medium. I also create mixed media collages, assemblages, digital art as well as write poetry. What makes me happy is seeing my collectors find a place in their homes and hearts for my art. In both my art and poetry, I weave together observations from my life, from the lives of previous generations, and from the lives of people around me, mashing and distilling thoughts and ideas to find new connections and perspectives. My art is about making the world a happier place, one painting at a time. It is also about capturing the ephemeral moments in time that matter and reminding others of moments that bring them joy. There have been many who have influenced my art. My mother was an artist and from a young age, I was influenced by her optimistic outlook and artwork. Other artists who have influenced my work include Robert Rauschenberg, Joan Miró, Philip Guston, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Hans Hofmann, Willem de Kooning, Joan Mitchell, and Franz Kline, to name just a few. You can find more of my art on My new book, Angels Among Us: Art and Poetry, is out on Amazon.
