Painting: Oil, Acrylic on Canvas.
President Biden - no matter what he does, he will always have a huge orange shadow looming over his shoulder. Will this be his fate or can he unify the country? Can he unify the world? Will the country - and the world - be able to face the challenges of the future and adapt to climate change and unforeseen threats? Will he be able to bring back compassion, humility and humanity?
I have been painting portraits for years. I started my "Icons of Icons” concept by adding gold leaf to the background, resembling religious icons. I then dove into my "Gold Portraits” once I swapped the oil paint for the background and the gold leaf for the actual portrait.
My series of “Bold Portraits” started when I decided to drop out everything extra, like the gold and most colors. By going through my paintings several times with a very small brush they look finished AND have a relaxed sketchy feel.
In addition to oil paints and gold leaf I often use an ultra black acrylic paint, one that absorbs 99% of visible light.
I paint iconic people and topics that have had an impact on me or our society.
I paint oil on canvas, but in my BOLD portraits I also use a ultrablack matt acrylic paint.
The painting is signed on the back and has my “e” symbol on the front.
My paintings always continue around the sides, so they can be hung unframed.
