About The Artwork

Princess Elisa's heavy eyelids fell closed, it had been an eventful day. First the turmoil around Albirich in the castle and then she had unexpectedly run into the arms of her beloved. Ferdinand with the seductive moustache and the full lips had unexpectedly asked for her hand. In the big bamboo grove ... in the castle garden of her parents. It could not have been more romantic! Today she didn't need to count sheep anymore. Emma the sheep with the big perm laughed to herself: "Elisa is so naive. I guess we'll have to tell her the truth in her dreams." She stole away from the meadow where the other sheep were lazing around, happy that they weren't being herded over the fence today. She tiptoed into Elisa's memory. She wanted to look more closely at what Elisa had seen in the corner of her eye before Ferdinand had asked her to marry him in the bamboo grove. "I knew it!" she snapped. "That scoundrel!" the sheep indignantly straightened her perm. "He's distracting from his friends pulling the escaped Albirich out of the pond." This painting was made with much love in Minusio on Lake Maggiore. You can see a presentation of this painting on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyyBe1rGYO0 Tell me what Albirich has done wrong that he had to flee! Why does his friend Ferdinand cover him and lie to his beloved or are they both cheats?

With my paintings I want to put a smile on the face of the viewer. I want to remind him of the sunny side of life and brighten his mood. All my paintings tell stories. Which ones? That depends on the imagination of the viewer. Hello, I am Suraya Baumeister, born and raised in Heidelberg (Germany) in 1976. I studied landscape architecture in Kassel and Palermo and after living in Karlsruhe for a few years, I moved to Switzerland, to Lake Maggiore in 2010. During my studies (1997-2004) I started to paint abstract, preferably with a spatula. My individual painting style started to form in 2017. The abstract paintings I do are acrylic/mixed media on canvas. I paint them intuitively. Through the abstract painting I get inspired to draw the faces, figures, mythical creatures and elements. With my art I want to make you smile. My paintings radiate joy and ease. Together with the stories I write for the big pictures they stimulate your fantasy and invite you to step into a playful world.
