Angelo Asaro is an Italian artist based in London. His journey is a unique fusion of engineering and art. With a master's degree in engineering, Angelo initially built a successful career as a Product Manager. However, his true passion has always been art, an interest he consistently nurtured alongside his profession, eventually fully embracing it as his artistic vocation. This transition allowed him to apply his analytical skills to the meticulous attention to detail that characterizes his work, creating a perfect blend of precision and imagination. Angelo's artistic style is a fusion of surrealism and symbolism, enriched by a strong philosophical and conceptual approach. His work is shaped by a rich tapestry of influences, including literature, philosophy, and various artistic movements, accompanied by an in-depth exploration of psychological and philosophical themes. Growing up in Sicily, a land rich in history, culture, and contrasts between its cultural heritage and the challenges of modern life, provided a backdrop for his exploration of themes such as identity, memory, and resilience. The region's literary and cultural influences have had a profound impact on his art. Authors like Luigi Pirandello, who explored the complexities of reality, perception, and the ambiguity between illusion and truth, have subtly influenced his surrealist approach, encouraging him to challenge the boundaries between reality and imagination. In his art, objects are often arranged in ways that defy logic and perception, reflecting the continuous dialogue between reality and illusion. Moving to London added another layer of complexity to his art. Surrounded by the city’s vibrant, cosmopolitan energy, Angelo’s work evolved, intertwining his personal story with larger social issues, resulting in pieces that speak to both individual experiences and universal themes. Angelo’s works have been exhibited in galleries, international exhibitions, and prestigious art fairs. His creations have been featured in leading publications such as British Vogue and Vanity Fair, as well as in influential art blogs and online magazines dedicated to art and culture. In 2024, he was a finalist in the esteemed ArtGemini Prize and the Zari Art Prize, two international awards recognizing contemporary artistic talent with the painting 'Ready-Made Thoughts'.
