ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Moving back to France last december after 15 years in the tropics, I was awakened by the beauty of the leafless trees of winter and got inspired by the embroidered like abstract patterns. For the first time I noticed the beauty rather than the sign of a coming long winter. I choose to title my series ‘promiscuité” (promiscuity) because of the crowdedness of the branches in the trees. The background has a iridescent bronze aspect. Gallery wrapped 1.5", painting continued on the edges , no framing required and ready to hang.

Natalie L. fascination for the Impressionists led her to create her first paintings under this influence. As her tastes has been evolving towards modern and contemporary art, she has gradually moved away from figuration. After a career in the tourism industry, Natalie, a Parisian born artist, left the city life in 1999 to embark on a somewhat "bohemian life style". Traveling the South Pacific gave her the time and inspiration to fulfill her dream of becoming a full-time artist. One of the consequential experiences of her life was sailing around the world. That will lead her to live between Florida and the south west of France. She works in series and the themes and styles are influenced by that changing temporality. From figurative to abstract, from cubism to impressionism, from painting to sculpture, her very eclectic work reflects the pleasure she feel in experimenting.
