Many of the large paintings I submitted for the University of Hertfordshire BA(Hons) Fine Art degree in 1999 made reference to the first nation children I worked with in Vancouver Canada. As a young immigrant I became very interested in their lives, and their culture, and I was determined to make reference to them in my art.
I work with painting, photography, print-making, silk screen, and also make video.
‘Present Tense Ronda', from that same Degree Show, was again inspired by the experience of living in Spain, and the Spanish artists I had encountered. The painting purchased by the University is exhibited in Fine Art Department, and the large painting 'Diner Party', also from the same Degree show, led me into the Masters Degree in Fine Art Practice at Central Saint Martins in London.
I worked in my studio in Hackney during my time in London and became involved in a number of art projects including the development of the Kings Cross area of London.
I now work in Cornwall and also have a studio on the Island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands in Spain.
