ABOUT THE ARTWORK
These are pumpkins in front of a tool barn on my parents home property. Over the years I have painted pumpkins numerous times. It is always a joy for me from an artists perspective when late Summer and Fall gets here for several reasons. The change in the light is definite, shadows get better, the weather is a little kinder in Tennessee, and I get to paint a few pumpkins. It is something very familiar to me. This year I really re-kindled my love for watercolor. I'm painting on Windsor & Newton paper now and working with that paper and that medium is really clicking with me. And I think it is the perfect medium for these types of paintings. The painting is mounted on a white mat and is ready to frame. Or of course you can have it remounted. The dimensions are: Painting 11x14 in. Mat: 16x20 in.

Born in 1960 in Salina, Kansas, Steven Allen Boggs resides in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He studied at the Nashville School of Art, The Scottsdale Art Institute, and at workshops with Nelson Shanks, Gregg Kreutz, and Michael Shane Neal. Boggs' paintings are in private collections in the United States, Canada, and Europe. He has won "Peoples Choice" awards, and has been a finalist in the "Top Ten in Tennessee" show by the Portrait Society of America. Boggs paints still life, landscapes, and portraits, and is an artist that is truly dedicated to his craft. He paints daily with a focus on subjects that he is close to and feels a connection with. Using a palette of rich earth tones he paints in layers to build up natural color and create solidity in the objects that he paints. The finished works are realistic and refined, but with enough loose brushwork to allow the viewer to engage their imagination while looking at the piece.
