ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Every hour an angel comes out to ring the bell with a small hammer. There is a small mechanical puppet theatre inside the tower and twice a day at noon you can see the show – “The Circle of Life”. I found myself, as if by the miracle of a time machine, in the faraway and beautiful Byzantine Empire of the 10th– 13thcenturies. I made a trip to the Dark Ages and they were not nearly as ‘dark’ as we often think of them. And even if that period was dark, who are we to pass the judgment? We’d better keep silent on the subject.

Hi, I am Viktor Didishvili, living in Tbilisi, Georgia. I began to paint in 2020 at the age of 38. Never done it before. During the pandemic, I discovered that I can paint and it took me so far that I got into a new world. My first inspiration is based on a garden at my parent’s house. It’s a place I use to go to during the weekends. The garden is full of life and mysterious energy when imagination seems to be a glory and misery, a blessing and a curse. At that time this is a place for me to gather myself and absorb my own sadness and get back to facing everyday life again.
