ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Abstract graphic composition, painted in mixed media (pigments, extra-fine acrylics, ink, solid oil sticks). Chinese paper is marouflaged on the cotton canvas, which gives me as a starting point, an interesting material to work with. I chose purple chromatic harmonies, some of which are worked in glazes for the transparencies in opposition to the more opaque ones. As a complementary color, green intervenes and stabilizes the whole composition. A few touches of silver punctuate the composition and fine black lines articulate the whole work.

Once the composition has been selected, she prepares her canvas and sketches the structure of the composition succinctly in charcoal. Then she begins to work on her colors and materials. Cécile uses pigments extensively, as well as acrylics, inks, graphite and oils.
