Puzzle Painting

The painting was inspired by a nightmare. I dreamt I was being chased by people who wanted to kill me and I remember I was running faster than I could. Screaming. Fighting for life. And just when I was about to die that I realized how badly I wanted to live. And when they were about to catch me, I was pulled back to reality. I was horrified and traumatized as to how I was able to survive the chase. Still shocked, I started painting with nothing on my mind but horror and that was how the painting was made. I want to give them the chance to stare at my nightmare. A chance we don’t really get to have. I want them to feel that sudden shock based from the distressed strokes and chaotic mess and be curious enough to stare at it intently, find out what’s really going on with me, with them and why do we all seem bothered. Like it’s a puzzle. It was an abstract painting of a nightmare in acrylic with a subject I didn’t choose rather chose me.
